This was during Christmas, with some of my family. The toys 4 drawings down belong to my grandmother- I found them when I was decorating the tree- they are 70 years old. And the last drawing is how I imagined the mountains- living giants, sleeping and being fed by lava from the Earth's mantle.

human eating birds

Also from before Christmas- our brief was to make a story in any form we liked- I've used coloured pencils, and I liked them a lot. You'll see I use them often afterwards.  This is the story of a wooden bird living alone on a small blue planet with a giant tree. The bird eats stars and then cries out star atoms on the tree, so it gets food too. But the stars run out, and the tree dies, and the bird jumps onto the Earth. where it finds out humans smell like the stars- apparently we're made up of star atoms- and because it is very hungry, the bird begins to eat humans.
